There is nothing quite like celebrating Independence Day on the Nature Coast. From fireworks reflecting over our beautiful lakes and bays to live music and classic small-town festivals, Citrus County knows how to throw a party for America’s birthday.

This year is even more historic as we gear up to honor our nation’s 250th Anniversary! Whether you want to hit the springs, listen to some incredible live music, or find the absolute best view of the fireworks, here is your official guide to the top 2026 Independence Day events happening right in our backyard.

Grab your lawn chairs, pack the sunscreen, and mark your calendars for these local favorites:

1. Homosassa Fireworks Festival

• When: Saturday, June 27, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Where: Old Homosassa Waterfront (MacRae’s & Crump’s Landing)

• The Details: Want to kick off the holiday week early? Head out to Old Homosassa this Saturday! MacRae’s and Crump’s Landing are teaming up to present a fantastic night of lights, live music, and incredible waterfront dining. It’s the perfect way to kick off the red, white, and blue festivities right on the river.

2. Inverness Patriotic Evening

• When: Friday, July 3, 2026 | Festivities start at 3:00 PM; Fireworks at 9:15 PM

• Where: Liberty Park & The Depot District (Inverness, FL)

• The Details: Inverness’ premier Independence Day celebration is pulling out all the stops for America’s 250th year! The action kicks off at 3:00 PM with "Red, White & Bruised" live pro wrestling at the Depot Pavilion. Then, set up your chairs at Liberty Park for a phenomenal live music lineup: Nuthin' Fancy (a top-tier Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band) hits the stage at 5:30 PM, followed by country artist Hayden Coffman at 7:45 PM. The spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky over Lake Henderson starting at 9:15 PM.

• Best Viewing Spots: Liberty Park, Wallace Brooks Park, or the Depot District.

3. City of Crystal River 4th of July Celebration & Concert

• When: Saturday, July 4, 2026 | 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Fireworks at 9:00 PM)

• Where: Crystal River Town Square & Citrus Avenue

• The Details: Spend your Independence Day downtown! Crystal River is hosting its annual celebration featuring the Crystal River Nights Concert Series right in Town Square starting at 4:30 PM. Citrus Avenue will be packed with food trucks, local artisan vendors, pop-up bars, and plenty of family-friendly games. Coolers are not permitted, but you can buy refreshments from the fantastic downtown district businesses. The night wraps up with an incredible fireworks display directly over Kings Bay at 9:00 PM.
